We will be taking a group to winterjam in Little Rock this year. We are buying the Jam Nation passes which will get us in the door over an hour early so we can get seats without having to wait in long lines. The cost for the tickets is $30. We will leave as soon as possible after the morning service and will eat lunch on the way. Students need to bring money for food, snacks, or any merchandise they want to buy. They do sell food inside, but it is usually a little more expensive.This trip is open to anyone who wants to come, but children under 12 need to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Registration forms can be downloaded and printed at the link below, from Bro. Jonathan, or at the church office. Please turn in your forms by Sunday, February 17th.
We will be taking a group to Jackson, MS to see Toby Mac in concert on Saturday, December 1st. I will have to order tickets soon because space is running out. If you want to go on this trip you need to turn in a registration form and $33 (ticket price) by this Sunday, October 21st. This trip is open to anyone who wants to go, but children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Registration forms can be picked up at the church or downloaded and printed at the link below.

Everyone is invited to our Pancake Breakfast Youth Fundraiser this Saturday, October 6th from 7:30-10:00 a.m. We will have sausage and all you can eat pancakes along with milk, juice, and coffee all for $6. Come join us in the Family Life Center this Saturday for breakfast. Thank you for all your support of our kids.
You can now register for the Run for Mercy by filling out the printable registration form. You can print a form from the link below or pick one up at the church. Please fill out the form and turn it in along with a check for $25 (payable to Mercy Ministries). You can turn the forms in to the church and we will get them to the proper place. Forms need to be turned in to me by Sunday, October 14th if you want to be guaranteed a t-shirt. If you cannot participate in the event and want to make a donation through our team you can make checks payable to Mercy Ministries and give them to me or make donations online. The Run for Mercy 5k and Family Walk will be held in Monroe on Saturday, October 27th. You can join our team by clicking on the picture below or visiting http://mmoa.convio.net/goto/firstchurch and clicking the join team link. The cost is $20 to join the team or $25 if you want to be chip timed for the event. Let us know if you have trouble signing up.
This Sunday, July 22nd is our annual Camp Meeting Rally Service at North Crossings Church in Monroe. We have been invited to stay after the service to go bowling at Bayou Bowl. The cost for bowling is $5.50 and includes games and shoes. This is open to anyone who wants to bowl. The youth will be leaving the church parking lot at 4:30 p.m. and the service starts at 6:00 p.m. Youth need to bring $5.50 for bowling and money for supper and any snacks they want to buy. We will not be eating until after the service so you may want to eat something before we leave.
If you want to go you need to sign up and fill out a permission form. Forms are availabe at the church office or from me. You can also download a form at the link below or our youth page at www.ogfcog.com/youth.
The youth are having a hamburger plate fundraiser on Friday, May 18th. Tickets are on sale now and will be available through this Sunday, May 12th. Tickets can be purchased for $6 from our youth, me, or at the church office. The kids are raising money for summer camps as well as our summer trip. Thank you for supporting our youth.

Our next youth fundraiser meal is scheduled for Sunday, February 12th right after our morning worship. We will have soup, baked potatoes (and baked sweet potatoes), salad, and dessert. Thank you for all your support.
We will be taking the youth to Winter Jam 2012 in Little Rock on Sunday, February 19th. We will leave right after church on Sunday morning. The cost is $10 for the concert and you need to bring money for food and anything else you want to buy at the concert. There will be a sign up list for those who want to go so we can be sure to have enough transportation. Please let me know if you want to go.
